Tasmania is leading the way in sustainable forestry management achieving carbon negative status according to scientists from the Australian National University and Griffith University. Researchers estimate that Tasmanian forests sequester roughly 22 million tons of carbon dioxide per year, a number that’s risen steadily since 2011 when regulations prohibiting the logging of natives came into effect.
