Life Cycle Assessment: Measuring Product Emissions

Quantify emissions for each stage of your product’s Life Cycle and identify emission hot-spots to target for reductions.

  • Satisfy stakeholder requierments for detailed emission data relating to your product.
  • Model changes to production processes or materials and subsequent effects on emissions.
  • Understand your product’s effect on the environment across a range of impact categories such as eco-toxicity and global warming potential.

Detailed insights for every budget

Introducing our innovative approach to sustainable decision-making:

NettZero LCA Snapshot.

In a fast-paced world where every decision matters, our LCA service offers a rapid yet comprehensive assessment of your product or service’s environmental footprint. With a NettZero LCA Snapshot, you’ll gain valuable insights into key environmental hotspots and opportunities for improvement, all delivered in a fraction of the time and cost of a traditional Life Cycle Assessment. Once the Snapshot model is completed and outcomes reviewed, we can build on the model to improve its accuracy, pursue validation, and formalise the study for deeper insights and integrity. Make better decisions, reduce your environmental impact, and stay ahead in today’s green economy with our LCA Snapshot.

Working With NettZero

Partnering with NettZero on a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) has enhanced Nomad Coffee’s understanding of both the upstream and downstream impacts of the coffee production supply chain.

Their LCA didn’t just give us numbers. It showed us specific ‘hot-spots’ where we could cut down on emissions. This means we have actionable insights to further drive down emissions relating to our products.

We can now confidently say we understand our products impact on the environment, and based on NettZero’s findings can work towards reducing it further.

The NettZero team demonstrated exceptional expertise and commitment, aligning seamlessly with our sustainability principles. With clear communication and easy-to-use tools, we felt looped in throughout the entire process, without being burdened with extra work. We recommend working with NettZero to carry out high quality Life Cycle Assessments with real outcomes.

How it works

Set the Scope

We will work with you to determine the scope and boundary of your Life Cycle Assessment including which life cycle stages you wish to assess, the intended audience, and any specific impact categories of interest.

Collect Data

We will collect and analyse 12 months of production data relating to your product including raw material aquisition, refining, processing, manufacturing, transport, product use, and disposal.

Informed by the data, we will assemble a digital model of your production process and quantify emissions relating to each stage of the product’s life-cycle.

You will review our initial model and identify any discrepencies between the model and your production process before we finalise your report.

Get Results

Results are delivered in report form and include the carbon footprint of your product, the emission intensity of specific greenhouse gases, and an environmental impact assessment pertaining to the product.
Your LCA will capture all the key inputs and outputs relating to your product in a single, easy to understand report.

Manufacturing: Assessing the environmental impact of manufacturing processes, materials sourcing, and supply chain logistics can help identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and emissions reductions.

Consumer Goods: Evaluating the life cycle of consumer products such as electronics, textiles, and household goods can inform design decisions, material selection, and end-of-life management strategies to minimize environmental impact.

Food and Agriculture: Analysing the environmental footprint of food production, from farm to fork, can help optimize agricultural practices, reduce resource consumption, and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions associated with food production and distribution.

Energy: Assessing the life cycle of energy production and distribution systems, including fossil fuels, renewable energy sources, and energy storage technologies, can guide investments in clean energy infrastructure and inform energy policy decisions

Key benefits of a Life Cycle Assessment:
  • Enable your business to grow sustainably by creating a quantifiable emission benchmark for your product.
  • Enable cost savings and increased competitiveness by identifying low-carbon alternatives to current production practices with associated dollar costs.
  • Allow companies to surpass competitors in the transition to a low-carbon future and create a long-term strategic approach to sustainability.
  • Retain existing customers and win new business by meeting procurement requirements for sustainability.
  • Represent a credible and transparent approach to sustainability, limit risks, and more easily communicate the emission profile of your product and plans for improvement to external stakeholders.
